New truck and trailer options

Nov 2, 2006 4:30 PM

Toyota goes full-size
If you want more options for a full-size pickup beyond the usual Dodge, Ford, Chevy or GMC, Toyota will be releasing a full-size Tundra model for 2007. They are billing it as a “heavy half-ton pickup”

The new Tundra offers the ability to tow a hefty 10,000 lbs. and features a new 5.7-liter V8 engine built by Toyota. The V8 will be matched with a new heavy-duty, six-speed automatic transmission, which is a first for Toyota.
Because more power and heavy work require better braking, Toyota installed heavy-duty front disc brakes with four-piston calipers and vented rotors. The Tundra is also equipped with high-capacity cooling and electrical systems to help handle the challenges of heavy loads in tough weather.

All around, the new Tundra is larger with an expanded wheelbase, an extra 10 in. in overall length, another 5 in. in height and an extra 4 in. in width. The design of the new Tundra complements its larger size by featuring a bold front grill, strong bumper and large headlights. For more information, call Toyota Motor Sales at 800/468-6968, visit http://www.toyoto.com.

Truck bed liner
Stop cargo from spilling out of the gap between the truck bed and the tailgate while protecting the truck bed with the new Liner Tongue from Rockwell Morris. The urethane seal protects against corrosion by preventing moisture from building up beneath the bed liner and tailgate liner. The Liner Tongue seal is available in either yellow or black in a universal size that can be trimmed to fit any pickup truck, with or without a truck bed liner. The product can be installed in 10 minutes to the bed of a light- or medium-duty truck.

The Liner Tongue is backed by a lifetime warranty against abrasion. It sells for $29.95, plus shipping and handling. To learn more, call 877-611-4162 or visit http://www.linertongue.com.

Redesigned stock trailer
Sundowner Trailers has released the first of its redesigned ProStock trailers with a number of innovations. The trailer has increased load height making it easier for livestock to load, and its aluminum floor is designed for positive traction to assure an animal’s upright position even in tough hauling conditions.

The ProStock trailers now have sliding walk-through rear and center gates that slide with the touch of a finger and have spring-loaded latches. A heavy-duty slam latch on all center gates and heavier rear-gate hinges were also added for safety and durability.

The trailer's 30-degree tapered nose allows for tighter turns, and provides ample nose-area storage space. (A front tack area is optional.) Also, the ProStock’s aluminum tear—drop fenders have been designed for off-road conditions. Sundowner remains the only trailer manufacturer to offer a Suncoated® breastplate and neck—a special coating that provides durable protection against wear and tear.

The ProStock line comes with a three-year "hitch-to-bumper" warranty that covers every aspect of the trailer , along with the company’s eight-year limited structural warranty. For more info call Sundowner Trailers at 800-438-4294 or visit http://www.sundownertrailer.com.
